There are stories that do not belong to time, but to the forms they choose to take. “The Adventures of Pinocchio: The Story of a Puppet” is, par excellence, one of these.

Carlo Collodi’s masterpiece has spanned the centuries not as a museum piece, but as a living creature, capable of changing its skin with each new reading. Today, this metamorphosis is accomplished once again through the extraordinary visual sensitivity of Francesco Corli, a renowned illustrator from Ferrara who previously collaborated with our Gallery when he illustrated the novel “Alice in Wonderland,” which we published concurrently with the exhibition of the original works.

CArt Gallery is proud to announce “The Adventures of Pinocchio illustrated by Francesco Corli,” the exhibition where it will be possible to admire and purchase the 50 original illustrations created by the artist and published in the new volume of our “CArt Gallery Masters Books” series.

In Francesco Corli’s acrylic illustrations, the protagonist’s woody material is in constant dialogue with the flesh and the spirit. Corli’s style is sometimes sharp and geometric to convey the puppet’s stubbornness, sometimes softer and more crepuscular to embrace Geppetto’s melancholy or the luminous mystery of the Blue Fairy. Light and shadow not only add depth to the scenes, but also tear away the veil between fairytale and nightmare, reminding us that Pinocchio’s journey is, above all, a descent and ascent through the trials of existence.

Here you can buy the volume published in only 100 pieces in 2 versions – standard and de luxe – signed and numbered.

At the opening on Saturday, September 12th, starting at 5:00 PM, CArt Gallery will host the artist, who will meet with a public of enthusiasts. All original works will be available for purchase, starting at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 12th, directly in the Gallery or by visiting the artist page.

The exposition will close on October 7th. For more info you can send an e-mail to info@cart-gallery.com.
